Stan_ITA - 1

On Tuesday I met with Yao, an International Teaching Assistant from China. She has a BS in Biology and is working towards a doctorate in Bio-Mathematics! Since FSU does not have a department for Bio-Mathematics she will be teaching Math of all levels (particularly Algebra and Calculus). I mentioned some of my interests and she asked me if I engage in meditation. I replied that I do, and we discussed some different meditation practices. She told me that she comes from a Zen-Buddhist background and that meditation is a regular part of her culture. She is a very bright and interesting individual. I look forward to learning more about her and her culture : )
