I met my International Teach Assistant (ITA) last week! His name is Keith Do. Kari Kitchens and I have the same ITA so we get to hang out all the time :) He is from a Northern Province, very close to the capital, Ha noi, in Vietnam. His Vietnamese name is Qu oet H. Do (I'm pretty sure thats how you spell it). He told me that he picked that name because it sounds similar to Keith when you pronounce it in Vietnamese. Keith is 26 years old and has been at Florida State University for 2 years. He is studying to be an Industrial Engineer. Kari and I asked him if there was a big difference between the educational system here and in Vietnam, and he said the biggest difference was that people are very shy there and keep to themselves much more. He said that Americans are very talkative and much louder. I think that was pretty funny because I consider myself to be extremely loud and talkative. We planned our second meeting to be at the FSU Seminole Reservation.
