So I was supposed to meet up with Ko on Thursday at Strozier Library but
he texted me and told me that he was really hungry. So I decided that we would
try some unique food from around Tallahassee. I picked him up and we went to
dinner at “Little Athens.” It has the most amazing Greek food I’ve ever had
(YES WAYYYYY BETTER THAN PITARIA!!) He was so excited to try something new. I
got to order his food, of course I chose the classic “Big Athens Gyro with Pita
Fries” (who are we kidding). He devoured it faster than I’ve ever seen. Then he
ate the rest of mine!! We talked about traditional Japanese food and how
different it was from most food we eat in America. I am pretty close with the owners of the restaurant, so I
introduced him to Papa George the “Head Chef.” George always boasts how his
restaurant is #2 in Tallahassee, only behind Mr. Robotos (which he says is
TOTALLY unfair because Mr. Robotos has two locations!) Ko seemed to love
learning and meeting so many different people and other cultures. Papa G
brought out another kind of bakalava just for us to try too, Pistachio
flavored! Ko liked that one more! In Japan they don’t really eat very sweet
food. I told him that I wasn’t sure if I could survive. We left Little Athens
fat and happy and had already planned out next outing by the time I dropped him
back off! I look forward to hanging out with him too. I think I am going to try
and take him and Yuki rock climbing in Railroad Square soon. I think they would
really like it!
