After I did my culture class today, I met up with my tutee Jaewoo in the lounge and finished off some snacks while also playing Scrabble. Jaewoo...is really good at Scrabble. He plays it on his phone all the time so he practices, which is really good because it helps with spelling and vocabulary. He kicked my butt and formed all these long and connecting words. It was annoying! Especially since his words kept landing on double and triple word and letter value squares. But it was good that he won at the same time because he was learning new vocabulary as well. On some of the words I spelled he would ask me the meanings like "oar". We ended up playing for a little over an hour, but even still, the pace that we played at was pretty fast. Whereas the other day when I played with students who had lower levels in vocabulary didn't go as fast with their turns. I think Jaewoo was pretty happy about beating me, but I vowed to him that next time his victory wouldn't be won so easily.
