On Friday, I met with Rashed. He was going over the the grammar points that were giving him trouble.  Specifically he was focused on subordinating conjunctions. If you're wondering, subordinating conjunctions are connector words that join a subordinate clause to a main clause. Examples of this would be unless, although, even though, because, while, etc. I was prepared to go over a reading lesson for our tutoring session, so I was caught off guard. If there is one thing that I will definitely take from our TEFL class, it's asking students for an example when you don't know the grammatical term. What he was having problems with was coming up with sentences to use the specific subordinating conjunction so I would offer a sentence using the conjunction he would have problems with and he would come up with another sentence, so on and so forth. We came up with the same sentence at the same time with 'even if': I will agree with you, even if you are wrong! Great minds do think alike :) After he felt comfortable with subordinating conjunctions, we moved on to reading and listening, based on my culture lesson, which I'm really glad of because he gave me some valuable feedback regarding the recording I used (meaning, I won't be using recordings like that in the future).
