Tonight after class I met with Majdi in strozier library. Majdi was introduced to me by another TP of mine. Majdi and I exchanged numbers in the afternoon and then he asked if we could meet that night at 7. When I got to the library he was already working on his worksheet. Majdi said that he needed some help with it so I looked at it. This was a worksheet on new years resolutions. He had to match some vocabulary and create 10 sentences that were about resolutions. When I got there he had already finished with the vocabulary so we started working on the sentences. The first question was how will you be healthier in the new year. Majdi had to use the future tense so he wrote “I will” and then looked at me. I told him to try to write something down and I will help him with it after. He came up with “I will quit” and then looked at me again. So I asked him, “what would you like to quit to be a healthier person” and he replied “drinking.” I told him that he should write that down because it is a very good answer. He seemed surprised at first but then it seemed as if he realized how easy the assignment is when just using the future tense construction. I did not have to help Majdi much more as he completed the worksheet. He then told me that it was almost time for him to eat so he invited me to come with him. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was surprised. I decided to write a separate blog about my dinner experience with Majdi.
